One of the issues that separated parents with children often face is how best to communicate with each other regarding the children. Best case is that parents are able to talk with each other and also trust each other regarding exchanging information. However, that is not always the case. But even when it is there is a benefit to having a resource where information and communications can be shared in one location. This helps to facilitate communication and also to reduce potential conflicts.

Many parents use texting apps or emails as a means of communication, but in my experience those are not ideal. Email and text messages can get confusing and are difficult to print out if needed. What I have found that works best for facilitating communications in custody cases is the use of a parenting app. A parenting app provides one resource that parents can use to communicate. Depending on the app you use, there will be a messaging feature, a calendar and often the opportunity to upload documents, medical records, school records and the like, to the app that can be accessed by both parents.

One other benefit is that the app provides an excellent tool if you have to go to court. While it is always best to avoid court if possible, it is not always possible to do so. If you have to go to court, having your communications, calendar and other information in a parenting app will make it easier to prepare and present information to the Court.
There are several different parenting apps that are available. Some require a fee and others are free. These include:
I recommend that you try out the different parenting app options and find the one that works best for you. I am sure that you will find that this tool will be a big help in managing your custody arrangement.
