Once you have decided that you are going to set up a new business in Pennsylvania, there are many things that you will have to consider/take care of. One of these is whether or not to incorporate your business. Generally, I always advise my clients to incorporate their business rather than rely solely on a fictitious name. The question then is deciding what form the business should take. There are several options including LLC and S Corp among other things. When we meet to talk about your new business, we will discuss the benefits or each of these forms and which will work best for you.
Additionally, when setting up your business you will need to choose a name for the business and obtain a tax ID no. known as an EIN (employer Identification Number). You will need the EIN when you go to open a bank account for your business. You can apply for the EIN at the IRS website.
Please contact me to schedule an appointment to discuss these and other questions you may have about setting up your new business.
